The Viborg-Hurley School District will hold an Open House for students/parents on Monday, August 23rd from 5-7pm. (English -https://5il.co/jenl : Espanol - https://5il.co/k38f)

The Viborg-Hurley School District will start all activities and classes as scheduled. Due to the ongoing construction on the north side of the Viborg location, the District is formulating an alternative entry/exit plan for the building. The alternative entry/exit plan will be communicated next week and utilized until construction is complete.

VH Junior High football will have their first practice on Monday, August 16th at 8:00 AM in Hurley.
VH Junior High volleyball will have their first practice on Wednesday, August 25th after school.

Reminder that all athletes planning on participating in HS or MS sports need a physical and have the paperwork turned in to Mr. Schoenefeld, or their head coach, before they can start practice. If you haven't already had your physical, or made your appt for one, Tuesday's physical day at the school would be a great opportunity to get it done. Surplus Yard Sale!
The Viborg-Hurley School District will be holding a surplus yard sale on Tuesday, August 3rd from 5-8pm at our Viborg and Hurley locations. Lots of items are up for grabs and no reasonable offer refused. A few items will be on a silent auction format in Hurley from 6-7pm. Physicals will be conducted by Pioneer Memorial and the cost will be $30. All JH and HS athletes need a physical turned in before they can start practice. 6th-grade girls playing MS softball will need a physical. Impact testing is for athletes in grades 7, 9, 11, and anyone with a previously diagnosed concussion. 6th graders playing MS softball will need to have impact testing. Cheerleading tryout practice for hs football cheer will be on Monday, August 2nd and Tuesday, August 3rd on the football field in Viborg. The tryouts will be on Thursday, Aug. 5th at the field. Start time each night will be 6:00 PM. Contact Coach Ellie Van Hull or Mr. Schoenefeld if you have questions.

Due to the construction taking place in front of the Viborg-Hurley Elem/HS building in Viborg, we are asking individuals to park by the ball field located on South State Street and access the building using the east elementary doors.

7th and 8th grade Volleyball Camp update:
Lunch will be provided on June 18th by our National Guard recruiter, Sgt Haley Harvey. Sandwiches, fruit and Gatorade will be provided. You will still need to bring your own lunch for June 17th.
Reminder that the Hurley gym does not have air conditioning. Make sure to bring a water bottle and a sweat towel would be a good idea too!

Congratulations to Viborg-Hurley freshman Peyton Hansen for placing 66th at the State B Golf Meet in Brookings earlier this week! Peyton finished with a two-day score of 187 and finished 66 out of 121 golfers.

Congratulations to the boys track team and coaches on the runner-up finish at the State B Track Meet in Rapid City! Three meet records were set: Angel Johnson in the 100 M Dash and Long Jump, and the 4x100 M relay team of Angel Johnson, George Johnson, Carter Gust and Chase Mason. Congratulations on a great season!

The VH track team will be passing by Hurley around 3pm and on to Viborg after. Please help welcome our track team back home after a successful state meet.
