I would like to extend a welcome to our new student teacher, Ms. Brenda Weber. Ms. Weber will be co-teaching with Mrs. Rice in our first grade room this semester and we are very excited to have her in our elementary building. Please help me in welcoming Ms. Brenda Weber to our school and to our communities.
My name is Brenda Weber. I am originally from Emery, South Dakota. I grew up on a cattle-crop farm with my dad, mom, and younger brother. I attended Bridgewater-Emery High School and graduated in 2014. Throughout high school, I was active in many different organizations and sports. For two years, I coached softball for Emery Summer Rec program. I always have had a passion for teaching. I began my teaching journey by attending South Dakota State University in Brookings, South Dakota. My first year, I pursued a degree in Agriculture Education. I later realized that my true passion was a profession in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. I switched my degree and enrolled in the teaching co-op program with Dakota State University. This decision was the best for me. I have gained my different skills and experiences from my program. Throughout my time in Brookings, I have worked as a playground supervisor at Dakota Prairie Elementary. I also worked as a youth development specialist and volunteer assistant at Boys & Girls Club. For my first semester of student teaching, I was a teacher for the toddler section at Fishback Center for Early Childhood Education. I currently live in Centerville and am engaged to my fiancé, Darren. I am excited to begin my final semester of student teaching with Ms. Rice’s first grade class. I am looking forward to working with the students and getting to know the communities of Viborg-Hurley.
